A serious incident unfolded on Wednesday afternoon at a busy intersection in Santa Clarita, where a deputy’s vehicle was sent rolling after a violent crash.According to information provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the collision took place near Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon Road at approximately 12:19 p.m. The deputy, who was navigating northbound on Bouquet Canyon Road, was struck on the passenger side by a gold-colored Lexus moving westbound.The force of the impact was significant, causing the police car to turnover multiple times before finally hitting a silver SUV, stationary at lights going the other direction. Large parts of car debris were catapulted into the air, fortunately missing other vehicles in the vicinity.Eyewitness video footage shows surrounding motorists promptly leaving their vehicles and rushing to assist the deputy. Needless to say, the situation dramatically reshaped an average day in this Santa Clarita intersection.Once paramedics arrived on the scene, the deputy was immediately transported to the hospital. Thankfully, he only suffered minor injuries and was discharged the same afternoon. According to official details, the deputy was responding to a reported burglary at the time of the crash.Interestingly, the driver of the gold Lexus, an elderly man who walked away uninjured, was collected from the scene by family members shortly after the crash. The driver of the silver SUV also sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.The identity of the deputy remains undisclosed, no charges have been laid as of now, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
