In an unfortunate series of events, a family from Menifee, California, consisting of three young sisters and their mother, alongside their mother’s friend and her 13-year-old son, lost their lives in a horrific multi-vehicle collision. The accident occurred on July 12 on Interstate 10 near Quartzsite, Arizona, when the family was returning home after a road trip to Texas. The incident transpired when a utility truck carrying a load of asphalt failed to slow down amidst a highway repaving project and crashed into the rear of the family’s car, resulting in a five-vehicle crash. This crash caused the untimely death of all six passengers in the vehicle.The victims were identified as the Perez girls, Olivia, 12, Emalynn, 11, and Giana, 8, their mother Karly, along with the mother’s friend Heather Ventura, and Ventura’s son, Lucas Tejada.Sources claim that the Perez girls were intelligent and respectful children who had a passion for softball. Remembering them, the girls’ aunt said, ‘They were the stars of our world. Now they’re gone, and all we have is memories.’In memory of the deceased, a vigil is scheduled to be held at Centennial Park in Menifee on Wednesday.
