Yesterday, a traffic collision occurred on I405 North at the Crenshaw Boulevard offramp. According to sources, the event happened around 4:06 PM, obstructing the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane. LAPD was promptly at the scene to manage the situation, while emergency and other services were notified.At 4:07 PM, LA Fire Department was alerted about the incident. Shortly after the accident, by 4:11 PM, Torrance Fire Department was informed about the situation, given the proximity to their jurisdiction. At 4:25 PM, Torrance Police Department located parties involved in the accident, with LAPD motor officer at the scene.A black Lexus was reported to be involved in the incident, and according to reports, the accident was a hit and run. Local police department and medical aid were already on site by the time the collision was reported. As of 4:30 PM, the HOV lane was obstructed due to the accident.Torrance Police Department arrived at the scene by 4:48 PM requesting the California Highway Patrol’s estimated time of arrival. Also, a Free Service Patrol requested an ID from California Highway Patrol to move the vehicles to the right shoulder of the highway. By 4:50 PM, the LAPD motor unit had arrived, leading to the HOV and the first lane being blocked. The exact cause of the accident still remains unclear, pending further investigation.
