Sources report of a traffic collision on I10 E just west of the Fairplex Drive off-ramp. Two vehicles, a dark-colored Dodge Ram and a black Volkswagen sedan, are involved in the collision. According to initial information, the accident resulted in significant traffic disruption with the impacted cars obstructing the carpool lane and the two adjacent lanes.The extent of the damages to the vehicles is yet to be determined; however, witnesses reported one of the vehicles, presumably the sedan, catching on fire post the incident.There is at least one reported injury as a result of the accident, an approximately 40-year-old male who complained of chest pain. The individual was noted to be conscious and breathing at the scene and was transferred for medical attention.Emergency services were notified and were promptly dispatched to the incident location. As of the most recent update, units are at the scene addressing the situation. Motorists are advised to expect delays when traveling in this area and to use alternative routes where possible.
