Three individuals lost their lives and three others were severely injured in a tragic, single vehicle incident that unfolded in the early hours of May 11 in the 2300 block of Foothill Boulevard, Pasadena. The sole vehicle involved in the crash was a 2018 Tesla Model 3.Sources state that the Tesla was traveling westward on Football Boulevard at speeds exceeding 100 mph, ultimately running the red light at Sierra Madre Boulevard. The Tesla narrowly missed another vehicle at the intersection before losing control at Vista Avenue. It struck the curb, hit a street light and got airborne, crashing into a power pole and veering off into a vacant building approximately 130 feet away.Only the front seat occupants of the Tesla were wearing seat belts, leaving four passengers in the rear of the car without restraint. All passengers were ejected from the vehicle upon impact. The 22-year-old driver, Moheb Samuel, and an unidentified front-seat passenger succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Stefan Pfeifer, a 20-year-old rear-seat passenger was also pronounced deceased.A 17-year-old female passenger remains in critical condition while the two remaining victims, Emerson Newquist, 20 and Bella Ramirez, 18, are reportedly in stable condition. Toxicology reports to confirm any substance usage during the incident are due from the county medical examiner’s office.
