According to sources on June 4, 2024, a devastating head-on collision in Playa del Rey cost at least one person their life, whilst leaving three others in a critical condition. The incident reportedly took place on the 8800 block of Vista Del Mar shortly before 8pm. Emergency services were soon on the scene to tend to the victims and assess the situation.
Upon arrival, it transpired that a total of four people were seriously wounded, with one already perished inside their vehicle. Subsequently, the three surviving victims were urgently transported to a nearby hospital to receive medical attention. Their identities have not been disclosed, but they are known to be a 30-year-old woman, an 18-year-old female, an 18-year-old male, and a 16-year-old male. All three currently remain in a critical condition.
The vehicles involved were specified as a blue sedan and a white SUV, both of which had sustained major damage as a result of the collision. Significant amounts of auto debris were observed on the roadway, indicating the severe impact of the crash. It was confirmed that the blue sedan was the vehicle from which the casualties were extricated.
Currently, the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident remain under investigation, with the road remaining temporarily closed to facilitate further examination of the scene. Authorities have yet to release the identities of the victims.
