Sources report a traffic collision on the I405 South, near Nordhoff Street today which involved a pickup truck and a red SUV. The vehicles were initially obstructing the carpool and the first lane, impacting the flow of traffic.The pickup truck was found facing in the wrong direction following the collision. Subsequently, the red SUV was found facing the wrong direction and was also involved in a collision with the center divider and another unidentified vehicle. The incident led to the obstruction of the carpool lane.First responders arrived on the scene to assist, with the fire department blocking the fifth lane upon arrival. In an attempt to ease the traffic, the involved vehicles were relocated to the right shoulder of the freeway.Sources also indicate that the first responders’ arrival resulted in the temporary blockage of the carpool, first, and second lanes. Specially trained personnel were called to handle the situation and were successfully cleared later.The incident was first thought to be a traffic collision with unknown injuries, but was later updated to a traffic collision with emergency medical assistance en route. As of now, the conditions of the drivers and potential passengers are not known. The lanes reopened shortly after the accident was cleared. Please exercise caution when driving in this area.
