A significant traffic collision has been reported to sources on Interstate 5 North, close to Lankershim Boulevard. It remains unclear just how many vehicles involved in the collision. However, the preliminary details suggest that a black Chevrolet truck was involved, and mention has been made of erratic driving preceding the collision.Good Samaritans on the scene provided assistance, with one individual noted as being in a Toyota RAV4 moving to the side of the road. The array of lanes on the Interstate were blocked due to the incident, leaving only the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane open initially. While the specific injuries resulting from the collision have not been specified, emergency services were dispatched to the scene. Multiple towing units were alerted for deployment to assist in debris clearance. However, thanks to the swift response of Fast-Response Support Patrol Unit, tire changes were all that were required to clear the scene and the towing units were ultimately not deployed. To manage the traffic disruption, a significant traffic alert was issued. Regrettably, this resulted in the temporary closure of the Interstate’s main lanes, causing delays to many motorists. However, sources report that the alert was lifted in a relatively short time, and traffic was able to resume in all lanes. The incident is now cleared, and traffic flow has been restored on the Interstate 5 northbound. Authorities will be conducting a further investigation to understand the events leading to this incident.
