A traffic collision occurred on the eastbound side of I210 to southbound SR2, causing significant traffic delays. Sources said that a black SUV reportedly crashed into a white Kia SUV, blocking several lanes of the freeway. Upon their arrival, emergency responders found that the occupants of both vehicles were already out of their vehicles and were on scene. There was no immediate information regarding any injuries sustained from the crash. Firefighters were also dispatched and were observed blocking the second and third lanes on the freeway. To manage the crash site and the traffic around it, the traffic control center issued a SIGALERT, a system developed by the CHP and used in Califonia to disseminate information regarding traffic incidents, which led to a closure of the identified lanes for approximately 30 minutes. The lanes on the freeway which were coned off included the second and third lanes, thereby allowing traffic flow through the first lane. In the course of the event, a white Kia SUV was sighted on the embankment of southbound SR2 at Mountain off-ramp. An elderly man was seen walking away from the area of the car, but it’s still unknown whether he has any involvement in the crash.A towing service was alerted to the scene to clear away the damaged vehicles. By 4:51 PM, the wrecked vehicle was in tow, the roadway was cleared and the SIGALERT was subsequently canceled.
