A traffic collision occurred on I-405 South near Santa Monica Boulevard today, according to sources. The incident involved multiple vehicles, including a motorbike and an unidentified pick-up truck.The motorcyclist was reportedly down in lane 5 following the collision, with the rider laying on the ground, according to initial reports. A green sedan was also said to be involved in the incident, blocking lane 4.The city’s fire department was promptly notified and dispatched to the scene, arriving shortly thereafter. They were able to clear the roadway successfully, moving the vehicles involved in the accident to the central divider (CD).Emergency services requested tow truck services to attend the scene. The first company contacted was TIP TOP TOW, who unfortunately reported that they had no trucks available at the time. Subsequently, ALL CITY TOW was notified and responded to the request. They provided an estimated time of arrival of 20 minutes with both a standard and flatbed tow truck.The traffic collision seemed to heavily impact a white Rivian and a SUV. The SUV reportedly sustained rear end damage and a broken right rear tire in the collision.Lane 1 and the high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane were temporarily held by the fire department during the incident resolution process. However, sources report that the situation was carefully managed to minimize disruption to local traffic.The condition of the individuals involved remains unknown and an investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
