A traffic accident involving an overturned vehicle occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 405 near Temple Avenue today, sources say. The vehicle reportedly ended up on its roof, initially blocking four of the five lanes.The accident, which caused significant stoppage of traffic on the freeway, involved a white Porsche and a gray four-door sedan. Despite the severity of the collision, parties involved did not require medical attention, according to sources originally called to the scene.Emergency personnel were quickly alerted to the situation and were en route to provide assistance and control traffic. However, their call to dispatch was later canceled when it was determined that no one was injured.The vehicle in question hit and damaged the attenuators on the freeway causing additional complications. The attenuators, safety devices designed to reduce the impact of vehicles and protect drivers, can cause lanes to be blocked when hit.A tow truck from H and L Towing arrived approximately 20 minutes after the accident to remove the overturned vehicle. During the incident, lanes four and five were held by first responders to ensure the safety of all involved and to ease the retrieval of the overturned vehicle.Thankfully, despite the alarming initial report of an overturned car, everyone involved remained unharmed. But the accident serves as a reminder that driving safely and attentively can prevent such incidents on busy highways.
