On Friday night, a police pursuit in California ended in a car crash involving three vehicles. The suspect, a 35-year-old resident of Los Angeles, injured himself and at least one other person during the incident. The chain events were sparked at around 9:30 p.m. when officers responded to a reported shooting on Franklin Avenue. The suspect, who matched the description from the shooting scene, fled officers on foot and then by car. Despite the police chase, the suspect continued to drive at high speed, initially moving west on Hollywood Boulevard from Wilton Place, and later heading east on Sunset Boulevard.The suspect’s vehicle collided with two others at the intersection of Sunset and Vine Avenue. The suspect then left his car and fled from the crash scene on foot. After a short pursuit, the police were able to apprehend the suspect. Officers reportedly discovered a live round in his possession upon his arrest.The occupants of the two vehicles involved in the collision reported various injuries. One driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment, while the other reported pain but did not require hospitalization. The suspect sustained a minor head injury in the crash, was treated at a local hospital, and has since been released into police custody.The suspect has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and was released on $30,000 bond on Saturday.
