On a Sunday evening around 6:15 p.m., a white Kia, reported stolen and driven by two underage females, led the Los Angeles Police Department on a pursuit through the streets of South Los Angeles. The chase began after attempts by law enforcement to halt the vehicle were unsuccessful. As the pursuit escalated, the stolen Kia collided with two other vehicles at the intersection of La Brea Avenue and Obama Boulevard. The two additional vehicles involved in the incident included a white Chevrolet U-Haul pickup truck and a BMW. The crash resulted in substantial damage to all parties involved. The pickup truck exhibited severe frontal damage, with an open hood presumably caused by the impact of the crash. Additionally, the BMW’s driver’s side was remarkably affected, both windows blown out as a result. The stolen Kia was also significantly damaged at the front end. The degree of damage enforced the deployment of airbags across all three vehicles. Emergency medical services transported both the driver of the BMW and the pickup truck to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The extent of the injuries received by the two juveniles remains undisclosed. However, sources confirmed they were secured at the scene and consequently placed under arrest. The incident marks another startling event in the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to reduce vehicle-related crime within the city.
