According to information provided from California Highway Patrol and other sources, a multiple-vehicle traffic collision occurred on South I405 near Nordhoff St. Offramp. The accident involved a white sedan, a black sedan, and a green sedan and was responsible for obstructing traffic lanes, including the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane and the first lane.Witnesses say one of the vehicles was traveling at high speed prior to the accident. Potential injuries were reported according to a witnesses, prompting emergency medical services to be dispatched to the scene.Due to the accident, numerous vehicles used on-ramps to exit the freeway to avoid traffic build up. There were reports of vehicles turning around and driving the wrong way on freeway due to the traffic situation. In response, the California Highway Patrol opened up lanes to facilitate traffic flow and allow emergency medical services to reach the scene faster.The accident caused such a severe traffic backup that emergency medical services initially had trouble reaching the scene. Eventually, they managed to reach by having a lane was opened up specifically for them. Two parties were located in the HOV lane and one party on the shoulder of the freeway when the emergency medical services arrived at the scene.As per recent updates, all lanes have been reopened since the incident, and traffic is gradually returning to normal.
