Authorities are currently seeking the apprehension of five individuals who are thought to have fled from a reportedly stolen vehicle. The incident unfolded in Hawthorne on Thursday afternoon last week, after a high-speed chase ended in the area. The pursuit is said to have commenced around 12:20 p.m., with the involved vehicle, a small SUV (believed to potentially be a Kia Soul), reaching speeds of up to 100 mph on both the 110 and 405 freeways. The holiday traffic conditions on July 4th apparently facilitated such high speeds.Following an exit from the freeway, the driver of the stolen vehicle navigated into a residential zone in Hawthorne. The five individuals inside promptly exited the vehicle and dispersed into the surrounding area. Around 1:10 p.m., there were the apparent indications of the fugitives entering residences within the vicinity. As of this point, authorities initiated a search operation and anticipated the suspects to surface from their hiding places.Sources say that it was at this juncture that the their aerial support had to withdraw for refueling, but they were able to confirm that all individuals involved have been identified as juveniles. As the situation currently stands, all suspects are in custody.
