A reported fatal collision occurred in the San Gabriel Valley, California in the early hours of Friday. The incident took place shortly after midnight when a driver, suspected of driving under the influence (DUI), crashed into multiple parked vehicles and a power pole on East Graves Avenue near Cecil Street in Monterey Park. Local patrol officers, who were present in the area, promptly responded to the scene following the collision.According to sources, a total of five people had been in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Officers found one of the victims, an adult male, on the roof of a house nearby. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional passengers, a man and a woman, were discovered deceased inside the vehicle. A 7-year-old child, believed to be the lone occupant wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened, was transported to the hospital along with the driver of the vehicle. Both were reportedly alert and capable of conversation as of Friday morning. It is currently speculated that drunk driving and excessive speed may have been contributing factors to the incident. A thorough investigation of the accident is ongoing. The incident has resulted in the temporary closure of East Graves Avenue for three blocks in both directions as authorities conduct their examination of the scene.
