Late-night events took a devastating turn in the Willowbrook neighborhood of Los Angeles, as a fatal vehicle collision occurred on July 6, 2024. Sources inform that the crash happened around 12:45 a.m. at the junction of El Segundo Boulevard and South Central Avenue, involving an Infiniti sedan and a Toyota hatchback, both reportedly associated with a street takeover convoy.A severely damaged black Infiniti, found on the sidewalk along South Central Boulevard, was abandoned by its driver, who fled from the site and has not been captured yet. Two female passengers were in the car at the time of the accident. One of the women sustained severe injuries and was subsequently pronounced dead. Authorities have identified her as 22-year-old Brenda Mejia. The other passenger, Sharlyn Vaca, 20, was hospitalized with moderate injuries.The other vehicle, a black Toyota hatchback, was heavily damaged and discovered at the corner of El Segundo and South Central. The Toyota was driven by Kimberly Dunne, a 32-year-old Los Angeles resident. The Infiniti was broadsided by the Toyota while driving southbound on Central.Imagery captured after the incident shows both the vehicles in a significantly damaged condition. The cause of the collision is underway, but preliminary findings suggest impaired driving as a possible factor.
