On July 4th, authorities were engaged in a pursuit with a potentially stolen gray vehicle, speculated to be a Kia Soul, on both the 110 and 405 freeways. The vehicle managed to reach speeds of up to 100 mph, taking advantage of the reduced traffic typically seen during the July 4 holiday. The pursuit ended around 1 pm in a residential area of Hawthorne, where all five occupants of the vehicle abandoned it and fled on foot. According to reports, the suspects entered multiple residences in the immediate vicinity. As of 1:10 pm, the authorities were still in the process of searching the area. The authorities are continuing their efforts to apprehend the suspects, who are believed to have fled from the suspected stolen vehicle. At the moment, authorities are waiting for the suspects to emerge from the houses they were seen entering. It can be noted that the challenging circumstances did not deter the pursuers. As a result of the situation’s development, further assistance was required, leading to a pause in the overhead coverage as the helicopter had to refuel.Details on the identities of the suspects or the owner of the vehicle have yet to be released, but authorities are urging any potential witnesses to come forward. The story is still developing.
