A 21-year-old Ventura County man tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle collision late last week, sources announced on Monday. The fatal incident took place on June 14th, shortly after 11 p.m. The collision site was at the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks.The motorcyclist, acknowledged as Jose Luis Diaz Cruz, a resident of Oxnard, collided with a car in the intersection. On arrival at the scene, authorities attempted life-saving measures, followed by paramedics and firefighters who provided more advanced care. The young man was immediately rushed to Los Robles Hospital by ambulance, where he succumbed to his injuries.The driver involved in the collision also received treatment at the hospital for minor injuries but was discharged soon after.At this time, it remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs might have contributed to the deadly collision.
