A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday night in Orange County where a motorcyclist was killed in a collision. The crash was reported around 9:45 p.m at the intersection of Gilbert Street and Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton. According to sources, the motorcyclist was heading northbound when struck by a driver traveling eastbound. The severity of the crash led to the motorcycle being dragged under the vehicle for several hundred feet before it was stopped by a concerned bystander. Tragically, the motorcyclist, who has yet to be identified, was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, observed having difficulty with a field sobriety test, was subsequently arrested with the suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).In another incident, a police vehicle involved in the investigation was hit by a Tesla. The officer, positioned near the vehicle during the incident, managed to move out of harm’s way, remaining uninjured. The impact of the collision caused the police cruiser to spin, resulting in significant front-end damage.The causes behind both crashes are currently under investigation.
