Sources say a traffic collision occurred on the eastbound lane of Interstate 105 near Long Beach Boulevard. The incident involved two vehicles involving a motorcycle and an unknown vehicle. The rider of the motorcycle was reported to be safe and was seen walking on the right shoulder of the freeway after the mishap. The collision resulted in lane blockages with the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane and the number 2 lane initially affected. However, the California Highway Patrol cleared the incident without the need for non-emergency roadside assistance or a tow truck as the involved party had private assistance arriving on the scene. As per sources, several vehicles were also observed on the right shoulder of the freeway. A Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) vehicle took one of the involved vehicles off the road while the other vehicle remained on standby. The traffic lanes were reported to be open after the incident. Authorities managed the situation by holding the HOV lane, along with lanes 3 and 4, for a span of time to ensure the safety of the situation. Despite the impact, the traffic congestion was effectively managed to ensure minimal disturbance to the flow of freeway traffic. The California Highway Patrol reported no severe injuries from the incident.
