A fatal incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, July 17, 2024, on the 5 Freeway in the Los Feliz/Griffith Park area of Los Angeles. According to sources, a pickup truck reportedly rolled over by Los Feliz Boulevard and crashed into a nearby fence on the right shoulder. The solo vehicle crash, which happened shortly after 3:30 a.m., resulted in the death of one individual. Although the identity of the victim is yet to be released, it has been confirmed by the California Highway Patrol that the crash did indeed result in a fatality. The crash led to the closure of multiple northbound lanes of the 5 freeway, causing significant traffic delays through the Elysian Valley. By 5:30 a.m., only one lane was operable to facilitate the flow of traffic.
