Sources report a significant traffic incident that occurred on I710 North at Imperial Hwy. A cement truck overturned partially blocking lanes 2, 3, and 4, and resulting in temporary traffic disruption on the freeway. The incident which happened in the afternoon, led to all lanes on northbound 710 just south of Imperial being stopped. To help manage the situation, an additional unit was requested for blocking the exit off-ramp. The driver of the cement truck was transported for precautionary measures, although it was confirmed that they sustained no injuries. This incident brought about a unique challenge, with a considerable amount of wet cement spilled on the roadway. To manage this, a sweeper and shovel were requested in addition to cement pick up efforts by technicians. This caused an extension of the Signal Alert for traffic control while cleanup operations were underway. In light of the incident and cleanup operations, the first lane on I710 was opened to help alleviate the traffic situation. However, lanes 2 to 4, as well as the off-ramp remained closed for some time to enable full clearance of the scene. Local news media were informed about the signal alert updates and extended traffic control measures in place due to the situation. Additional towing services were also enlisted on the site, further supporting the cleanup efforts. The measures ensured that the roadway was returned to its functional state as soon as possible.
