A definite traffic delay was caused on Sr60 East near Paramount Blvd when an unidentified grey vehicle lost control, thereby colliding with the center divider and blocking the high occupancy vehicle lane (HOV). The incident, which took place around 4:40 PM local time, also forced the vehicle to face the wrong direction.Sources say California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers were assigned to the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Units were en route to the scene by 4:45 PM and had arrived by 4:50 PM.After assessing the scene, CHP requested tow assistance for the disabled vehicle. Helms and Hill Tow company, reachable at 323-889-4900, was contacted for this service. They estimated the arrival time at the scene to be about 20 minutes.As the situation progressed, an ambulance was also requested at the scene due to potential injuries. This led to the involvement of the Montebello Fire Department. The collision’s status was therefore upgraded from an unknown injury collision to a collision that necessitated emergency medical response.Motorists were advised to approach the Sr60 E in the vicinity of Paramount Blvd with caution during this time due to the partial lane blockage and ongoing emergency response actions.
