Two girls aged 13 and 16, tragically lost their lives on Tuesday evening after a collision on Lake Marie near Antioch Township, situated approximately 70 miles north of Chicago, Illinois. The interchange occurred between a personal watercraft and a speed boat. It has been confirmed that the driver of the watercraft was a 16-year-old resident of Lake Forest.The girls were operating a Yamaha WaveRunner at high velocities when the unfortunate accident with the speed boat, manned by a 55-year-old Illinois resident, took place. Sources provided information that the watercraft seemed to be going straight towards the speed boat, which was unable to alter its course to avoid the calamitous encounter.The collision resulted in both teenagers being hurled into the water, falling unconscious. Thankfully, they were wearing life vests which enabled the people aboard the speed boat to promptly haul them out of the water. Immediate first-aid was administered until they were transferred to the shore.Regrettably, after being rushed to the nearby hospital, both teens were pronounced dead, say sources. The incident did not result in any other injuries. The crash is presently under examination by local law enforcement and following this, an autopsy is anticipated to be conducted on Thursday.A message from law enforcement extended condolences to the grieving families and everyone else affected by this heartbreaking incident.
