A serious crash involving a deputy’s vehicle occurred on Wednesday at a busy intersection in Santa Clarita. The incident, which took place in close proximity to Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon Road, happened around 12:19 PM. The deputy had been driving north on Bouquet Canyon Road when a gold Lexus heading westward collided with the patrol car’s passenger side. This triggered a violent series of rolls through traffic, culminating in a final collision with a silver SUV stationary at a traffic light heading in the opposite direction. The impact caused auto debris to scatter across the intersection, narrowly avoiding hitting nearby vehicles.Several individuals near the scene of the accident immediately rushed to assist the deputy following the crash. Paramedics soon arrived to provide further aid. In the midst of the accident, the deputy had been responding to a burglary report. Post-crash, the deputy was taken to a local hospital to address minor injuries, and was discharged later the same day. The elderly driver of the gold Lexus escaped unhurt, and family members subsequently collected him from the scene. However, the driver of the silver SUV incurred minor injuries and received transportation to a nearby hospital for treatment.Authorities have not released the deputy’s identity as ongoing inquiries are made into the circumstances that led to the collision.
