A juvenile is in custody following a pursuit that ended in a fatal car crash in Garden Grove, sources say. Authorities discovered a vehicle, reported stolen, in the vicinity of Taft Street and Garden Grove Boulevard at approximately 9:45 p.m. last Saturday. The officers attempted to halt the vehicle which then fled the scene travelling south on Taft Street. Just half a mile further south, at the intersection of Taft and Trask Avenue, the stolen vehicle collided with three other cars. The driver, a juvenile, tried to abandon the scene on foot but was apprehended and detained by the police.An unnamed passenger in the stolen vehicle managed to flee and is still at large. Authorities report that two people involved in the collision were taken to the hospital. Tragically, one of them, 34-year-old Kevin Luu of Garden Grove, later succumbed to his injuries. The condition of the second victim is reported as critical.The juvenile suspect received medical care for minor injuries before being lodged at the Juvenile Hall. Authorities have not yet decided which charges the suspect will face. It is suspected that drugs or alcohol could have played a role in the incident. No further details have been released at this time.
