A teenage girl has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a vehicle crash into a private residence in Newbury Park, Ventura County on Monday evening. Sources report that the incident began with a vehicle driving in the wrong direction around 8:15 p.m. near the intersection of Mountain Creek Drive and Gentle Creek Circle. Shortly afterwards, reports came in about a vehicular impact into a house.An on-site video revealed the vehicle overwhelmed by fire. An unidentified individual attempted to extinguish the flames before the arrival of the firefighters who successfully doused it. Law enforcement officers found two 17-year-old females, identified as the driver and a passenger of the vehicle, near the crash site.The driver has been detained under suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run. The passenger was reported to be under suspicion of public intoxication and interference with the ongoing investigation. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported from the scene.
