This morning at approximately 8:34 am, a collision occurred involving an RV and a white cab red trailer at Pearblossom Highway and Sierra Highway. According to reports, the collision knocked down a light pole, affecting traffic signals in the area, and blocked all eastbound lanes temporarily. Sources indicate that a commercial vehicle was also involved in the incident and arrangements were made for its removal. By 9:29 am, the vehicle had been moved to the road’s shoulder bringing some ease to the traffic situation. Around 8:53 am, due to a breakdown in traffic signals, there was a need for the California Department of Transportation to enforce a hard closure at Pearblossom off the NB 14 and also instigate the placement of stop signs and other appropriate signage as a safety measure. However, due to the damage sustained to the intersection’s light, Sierra Highway had to be closed temporarily for approximately 5 hours and controlled by signage while repairs were carried out, and it was reopened later in the day. During the course of the incident, emergency services including the Fire Department were called to the scene. The inconvenience caused by this incident lasted a few hours but was effectively managed and the area was eventually cleared. It has been advised to expect continued controlled traffic until all repairs are complete.
