A traffic collision occurred on US101 Southbound near Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to sources. The incident was first called in and reported as involving a grey Mercedes and a grey sedan spotted on the right shoulder of the freeway. Airbags were reportedly deployed in at least one of the vehicles involved in the collision, although visual confirmation of vehicle occupants was not available at the time of the call. A grey Toyota was also reported to be obstructing two right lanes at the scene of the accident.By the time it was reported, personnel from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) were already at the scene, along with the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). The CHP unit reported a grey Mercedes SUV and a silver Toyota Camry blocking the 3rd and 4th lanes of the freeway. Shortly after the collision was reported, a request for towing service was placed, with an estimated arrival time within 25 minutes. As the situation progressed, fast lane services were also rendered at the scene, prior to clearing the incident.The relevant authorities are investigating the incident, and information regarding any injuries sustained during the collision is yet to be released.
